Рикардо в итоге сделали 3-цилиндровый двигатели без распредвалов, полностью на электромеханике (считают надёжность достаточной). Там всё фазы плавают и переключения 2-4 незаметны.
Пока сделан 1 литровый для семейное авто, ездит на 4 тактах особо не чадя, на частичных нагрузках. При необходимости временного увеличения мощи, например для обгона переключается на 2 такта. Налоги берутся с 1 литра... Вроде всё логично.
